From today (Monday, July 20):

In response to increased tenant demand for office and retail space at The Well, RAD submitted a Minor Variance application to the Committee of Adjustment for an additional 5,282.32 square metres (56,858.42 sf) of gross floor area to the property. All changes are internal to the building face.

Once the Minor Variance application is deemed complete a public hearing will be scheduled and a public notice sign will be posted on site.

(Note: RAD is the parent organization for development of The Well - the initials of the three original partners, RioCan, Allied, and Stephen Diamond)

I guess that's the answer to the post-Covid Office cynics. There is demand for more spacious floorplans rather than less office space.

I'm guessing that a lot of that is coming from filling in floors where the cinemas were planned for 2 or even 3-storey height spaces.

July 24th - and the forms for the flooring slab on the west side of the office tower are starting to be moved up for the 24th floor. A fourteen day cycle since the forms started their move up for the 23rd floor on July 10.

Continues to be a two week cycle for each floor of the office tower for concrete forming at this stage of the building.
