note that this only allows them to complete the below grade works. It should at least allow them to finalize the pour of the grade slab..

That's probably better building conditions for the next developer to take over this project and start again.

He's been like a broken record on this thread repeating the same rubbish since he joined the forum

Say UrbanToronto had been around in 1914. Forum members would have been totally trilled to to see construction start on Union Station. The forum would have lit up like a pinball machine (we are going back after all). Tons of updates over the next 6 years as construction reached completion. A lot of great updates mixed with a lot of complaints about the length of time it was taking to work on Union (sound familiar?). 1920 comes and it was done. Awesome! But then something happened that caused great consturnation in the forum. It sat empty for the next seven year until it finally opened in 1927. 13 years from start to finally opening to the public. A boondoggle. Toronto can't do anything right. Look at any number of world class cities etc. etc. etc.

93 years later does anyone remember any of this (save for Wikipedia)? The reality is projects take time. Some run into issues but those issues are long forgotten. This could be delayed a 2 months or 20 but once done no one will remember or care. The internet has sped many things up. We need everything yesterday. But that's not reality. We should all just chill a little. Our need for updates will fulfilled soon enough.

Union was delayed since they took forever on how to decide to grade separate the rail corridor. One faction wanted to trench it and one wanted to elevate it, and there was a lot of disputes on who should pay for it as well as I recall. Even in 1927 they opened the station with a long walkway over York St to the old union station platforms. The elevated rail corridor and new train shed didn’t open until 1930.

yay!!! exciting stuff!!!
mizrahi please make sure you have your ducks in a row this time... this forum will self-implode if you get into trouble again!

I imagine they have a week or two's worth of work to complete the grade slab pour, but yes, after that, it's back to "on hold". At least until they get the above grade permit. They may have it by the time that comes around however.
