They got the form perfect, but then had to go all 300 Front Street East on us.

What a shame.

Yeah, that's exactly it for me -- because of the quality of the cladding, it just looks so damn cheap that I'm completely unable to enjoy the design intent/massing (which are both wonderful).

I walked by a few days ago with a friend who knows nothing about architecture; she looked up, pointing at the spandrel and said "why is it completely covered in some sort of temporary material?", which I think expresses the point better than I could with my own words.
 
Tridel charges at the higher end for their projects but use some of the cheapest materials on the exterior. Makes you worry about what they're going to do with The Well. Good builder overall, but can't be trusted when it comes to the design aspect.

I recall talking to one of the higher ups a few years back. Said the family's main goal was to ensure the owners were happy living inside the units. Hence they put their focus inside and didn't really care about the outside.

This would make complete sense and as a buyer, that is what I would care about the most.
