The City wants improved lanes generally. They're hoping to foster a little Melbourne action specifically south of Dundas Square on this lane, why wouldn't you bring it up to spec when a giant development was going up along one side of it. The people driving in and out of YSL's garage are going to want something decent.

Im not against the idea at all, I love the concept of increasing the desirability of our laneways, but in order to do something like that, there has to be a reason to pass through there, or at least have a destination. The reason the laneways in Melbourne succeed is because there are cafe's and stores in those areas
