Premier Doug Ford's Ontario

"Aren't the safe injection sites municipal jurisdiction? So, just like with the CBC comments, Doug has no idea what a premier does."

Thanks for the reference. It's federally approved.

In Canada, legal operation of a supervised injection service requires an exemption under Section 56 of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA). Exemptions are granted by the federal Minister of Health. In 2015, the federal government passed the Respect for Communities Act, which outlines the process and criteria for applicants seeking a Section 56 exemption.

Honestly, I am not keen on finely dicing the semantics - so what if he gets called a dick. He is one. Let's call a spade a spade and not beat around the bush for the obvious - especially for a bunch that insist on "free speech" and "plain speaking". Recall that this crowd are the same ones that dismisses the hate mail Wynne gets - and those go way beyond being called a dick.

York, or Sargent? ;-)

"Doug Ford is right. There is zero point keeping people alive just to suffer in perpetual misery. Without more resources for rehabilitation and treatment, safe injection sites are inhumane. Invest in treatment & actively refer people from safe injection sites into treatment." April 20, 2018

Getting away from safe injection sites, what if it were a terminally ill relative? Towhey might as well be arguing *they* aren't worthy of "treatment", i.e. "keeping alive just to suffer in perpetual misery". Better to efficiently Kevorkian them than to prop them up infinitely in chronic care wards and institutions...

So managed by the municipalities after federal exemption.

Is this a good idea?

"Mike Harris Jr., whose father was premier from 1995 until 2002, was named the candidate in Kitchener—Conestoga, succeeding MPP Michael Harris, no relation, who was prevented from seeking re-election over allegations he sexted a former intern in 2013.

Ford made the appointment despite the fact Harris Jr., had lost the nomination battle to Dan Weber in the neighbouring riding of Waterloo two weeks ago and there were several other candidates interested in running Kitchener—Conestoga."

Ontario Tory Leader Doug Ford says he’s ‘dead against’ supervised-injection sites.

He has our votes. The "safe injection trailer/hangout" is across the street from us in Moss Park. "Go Dougie!"
You can't force rehab on someone, they will just go back to their habit... bye bye to taxpayers money on a boondoggle, a Ford favourite.

Anyone see that new Ferris Wheel?:D

I'm starting to think Dougie is confusing "erection" with "election".

It saves money on not having to print new signs. RESPECT FOR TAXPAYERS.

Doug Ford chooses Ray Ferraro to run for Tories in Guelph
Local riding association president said 'circumstances beyond our local control' prevented the choice being made locally

The provincial Tories have decided Ray Ferraro will be the Progressive Conservative candidate for Guelph in the upcoming provincial election.

Ferraro and Pat Meyers were both seeking the local seat and scheduled to face off at a local nomination meeting that had yet to be scheduled.

But on Saturday afternoon provincial PC Leader Doug Ford announced Ferraro was being given the local nomination.

Guelph was one of 11 ridings for which Ford appointed candidates for on Saturday.

Coole said both Ferraro and Meyers were both excellent local candidates and Ford chose the one recommended to him by the provincial PC nominating committee.

He said Meyers was “a little pissed, and I don’t blame him.”
