Bite Me Grill owed over six month in back rent, and had not paid the staff for the past two month when they closed.

Greek Grill is a new restaurant that was started by the current landlord who previously owned other restaurants. They also hired back all the former staff of Bite Me Grill and paid their outstanding salary.

The food, service and pricing are all reasonable, especially the All Day Breakfast.

That's interesting. And not surprising. Nice to hear about the landlord hiring the old staff and paying the outstanding salary - that will push me to try this new place. Thanks for the heads up.

Lady Marmalade is moving to 265 Broadview in the spring (just south of Gerrard).

That would be great. I was a bit disheartened to see the cannabis shops moving in across the street. Lady marmalade will be a welcome change. I hope it continues.

Exciting new tenants for the Danforth!

A Bell phone store is going in to 510 Danforth, where Salon MOD used to be (next door to PAN).

And the new tenant for 531 Danforth, where Red Castle used to be (and Menchie's and Labiri before that), is being teased by an online contest at win531.ca, where people can try and guess the new tenant for a chance at $531. Given that the contest rules mention that the contest is being sponsored by Comtech Fire Credit Union Limited, I am going to guess that it is a Comtech Credit Union branch going in to 531.

I assumed (perhaps incorrectly) that the 7/11 closed because the site will soon be subject to an application. 7/11 and the owner might not have been able to agree on a short-term lease extension while the Planning Act process is pursued.

Heard a Bar Hop’s going in the space and they’re aiming to open at the end of February.

That payday loan store at the stately building at the corner of Greenwood and Danforth is so unfortunate. The signage on the building is so tasteless.

New restaurant named Wynona is opening at 819 Gerrard Street East, near the southeast corner of Gerrard and Logan. It is sandwiched between Mad Dog Cafe and the I-assume-it-will-open-soon Kid Chocolate, and is across the street from the Beer Store/proposed Grid condos.
