Few updates on this front. The operator of this unit, 1589, seems to have been at fault as of right now in the investigation as she ran a red (that had been red for a few seconds prior). Also at this point the operator has been charged. More information on the charges

Hope everyone is okay!! Though I do expect Brampton Transit will repair this unit as they did with 1067, a unit involved in an accident at Bovaird and Edenbrook Hill last year, that had arguably more damage than this.

Fares increase soon. As of February 9th, cash and credit/debit fares hit $4.75, adult PRESTO fares are now $3.55. Honestly it’s now just a matter of time until cash fares hit $5.00

Has Brampton Transit given up on publishing ridership stats month by month? Or is it strictly internal now? Just curious to see how and or when the 2025 ridership started to tick down.

The thing is, a lot of these would be reasonable if there was known extreme reliability issues on said routes, but from what I’ve seen, the routes are pretty reliable, so it just feels like BT is just trying to save face amidst the deficit, and worsening ridership, so I’m guessing announcing...

Other BT related service adjustments. Holiday service begins tomorrow with all school specials cancelled and most school-related trippers cancelled. The 501 is temporarily reduced to 7.5 minutes, and the 511C to 22 minutes (really feels pointless since it messes up the evenness of the headways)...

The next round of service changes have been posted and it seems to be a few cuts masked as reliability improvements. Most namely the 561s midday is now 30 minutes. I’ll admit it’s the weakest link amongst the Züm routes, but with the reliability adjustments to route 1 last board now having it...

While it wasn’t explicitly stated, it makes me wonder if they’d eventually have Argo (or some fixed bus service) to replace the 8, or even the 52 since they seem to (mostly) fall into Argo’s service boundaries.

Interesting little quirk this board. Brampton Transit seems to be testing interlining more in depth, with operators having to do multiple different routes for one block. While interlining has existed before, (eg. 10/20, 12/16, 24/25, 32/33…) now, there is a lot more than that. Gateway Terminal...

It’s honestly great to hear! This sum of buses definitely suggests that they purchased both expansive and replacement fleets, since some of their oldest Nova buses turn 21 in 2026 (which I believe have commenced the process of retirement). All around great news! Thanks for sharing!

I would guess that they didn’t or else I would have expected a bucketload of routes that say “route adjusted to meet GO Train times” but on that front, I would really like to see some service changes really dedicated to better aligning route trips with GO train times, because as GO train times...

Good question, wish BT posted this stuff as well 1/1A Queen currently runs at 10 minutes peak combined (20 minutes seperately), during the midday they run currently at 15 minute headways (30 minutes uncombined), and the 1 for the rest of the day runs a mixture of 20-30 minutes into the evening...

Sunday service is staying the same, it’s the Saturday service that is getting tweaked, from 15 to 16 minutes (due to a run time increase)
