The original city notice (when the y/b/y ramp was closed in Jan) said it would be done by Nov. 2017, but that date was scrubbed shortly after and no update was given
My conspiracy theory is that the Liberals may flip on this later in their mandate if they don't need Vaughan's political capital and the generous folks at Edgerick/GE etc. are up for contributing to the cause of the Big Red Machine.
I'm basing that on nothing other than a lifetime of observing...
Looks like you're right. It's all down to numbers, and Vaughan's gonna get passed over.

Does that change the calculus on jets at the airport? Vaughan sez no but Karygiannis sez maybe...
Yeah where do we talk about Vaughan's election night swagger where he (metaphorically) gives the middle finger to Porter and (without saying so) reminds people that he's gonna be a cabinet minister?
I know it's just academic given the differences between pedestrian vs. utility, but didn't they already tunnel under the airport anyway for the late-addition city water/sewer main aspect of the project?
No disrespect intended to the airship concept. It doesn't really square with most of the other commentary in the thread's focus on the TPA/Porter saga, but that's not to say that "our" soap opera is any more valid than "your" sci-fi. Lots of room for discussion here.
But on the question of...
Or, conversely, a purchase agreement that is conditional (or the price of which is conditional) on expansion. Which, I guess, ultimately takes the form of serious lobbying and/or litigation.
BTW, isn't it remarkable how the TPA has realized over the past year that it ought not be publicly seen to be leading the charge to fight all of Porter's battles? It's almost like the TPA hired a PR firm that doesn't have its head up its ass.
Just an update from an infrastructure trade journal re: the terminal sale. Elsewhere, Dec. 9 was identified as the date by which bids were to have been received, but I haven't heard anything further. Based on the political and business uncertainty, I would be surprised if Porter $750mm out of...
Hard to believe this was the scene of a massive gunfight seven years ago and a swat team raid six years ago (at two different bars). I wonder how long until the first meth-lab explosion in the new building? :)
