Had they welded the slats at a 45 deg. angle, the sign would have looked solid from Yonge St. Just wait until spring and all the birds return. That sign with be full of nests. What a great idea...not. Very disappointing!
I really like the new cladding on this tower. I noticed driving into Toronto on the weekend that Palace Pier tower is getting new cladding as well. Sorry I couldn't grab a pic.
What is wrong with this city? This project had the potential to be our version of the Empire State Building. An architectural statement for the city of Toronto but in typical fashion of our height phobic planning dept. it gets chopped. If you want density then you'll get shadowing and its not...
IMO, I think this building is being built on Shuter St. and not Queen. The first pic shows Jazz to the right, then Dalhousie. You can see 25 Mutual in the background between the new Bldg and Jazz. The second pic. confirms that the bldg. will be at the north end of the lot along Shuter between...
Does anyone know what's going on with the missing panels on the Dundas St. Tower at the Eaton's centre? You can see it in the top right corner of the second pic of G.L. 17's pics (#502)
I think it did cost skyjacked his job. It sounded like he had no choice....either keep quiet and someone possibly get injured or speak up. He ever so briefly posted pics on his twitter page of the crane assembly and from what I saw it looked like a pretty lame retrofit. It is unfortunate he paid...
I've been a member a UT for a few years now, and I check it daily but I don't always add my two cents until now. I went back through the posts and this building broke ground 5 yrs. ago this past July. It reached ground level Jan. 2011 and topped out with cladding about 17 mos. ago. I find it...
The whole reason Skydome was built was because fans wanted a covered stadium due the washed out Rain Bowl Grey Cup in Nov. 1982. Now the Argos are reverting back to the same open air stadium with its potential weather issues rather than stay at the Rogers Centre. How are you going to get fans to...
"Improve the fan experience"???? Wasn't Skydome built at the request of the fans to remove them from the elements? Why on earth would the CFL think that Argo fans would want to return to sitting in the rain and snow and freezing their butts off when they've enjoyed the comfort of an enclosed...
I forgot that there were going to be three pools on this project until I saw them being framed out in the photo above. Nice to see some of the details being constructed as proposed.
The Anderson bldg. is no Steinway hall. 107 West 57th reminds me more of what is happening over at the Ernst & Young tower project. While I for one and all for new construction mixed with and preserving the old....I don't see it for this project.
To be honest I was quite shocked at the news...
