    Roads: Ontario/GTA Highways Discussion

I agree that the 418 maybe didn’t need to be built, the 412 definitely needed to be built. I have the complete opposite stance, of that I think that toll roads should not even exist in this province. Tolls for a big bridge or tunnel... somewhat understandable. Other than that, I don’t think...

    Roads: Ontario/GTA Highways Discussion

I agree that there should be no tolls on the 412 or 418. One of the arguments made is that it is unfair to Durham residents that they have to pay to drive on the 412/418, while the residents of other regions don’t have to pay to use their North/South links, ex. Hwys 410, 427, 404 are free to...

Actually, YR often doesn’t maintain the downtown sections of regional road, for example as the sections of Yonge St. going through the downtowns of Aurora and Richmond Hill are not maintained by the region, rather their respective municipalities. The maintenance of the route through Bradford by...

Simcoe County Rd. 4 route doesn’t continue through Bradford as that section of roadway is maintained by the town of BWG and not the county. And also, almost nobody refers to Hwy 11 east of Bradford as “Regional Road 1”.

Personally I see the need for a freeway link here because a regular arterial would not serve the bypass‘ intended purpose, especially as it would not serve trucks as well. Regardless of what type of road is built in this corridor, it would still require the construction of bridges over the...

Recent article about Bradford Bypass: https://www.bradfordtoday.ca/local-news/work-on-bradford-bypass-to-start-as-early-as-fall-2021-3573989 My question is, what kinds of “early works” would potentially start in the fall of this year?

Contrary to what Google Maps displays, Canal Rd is no longer a county road and simply referred to by its name. Neither is nearby former county road 41.

I predict that the Canal Road exit will remain until the North Canal Bridge is rebuilt, which at that time, the exit will also be removed.

Even though these cameras have been working for a while now (many months, maybe even a year), they were just added to the website today for some reason. As far as I am aware now, the only cameras missing from the website are on the 401 from Hurontario to at least Mississauga Road (there is also...

That is for bike lanes on the road as seen in this example image (Hwy 6 & Laird Rd in Guelph) It allows bikes to turn and be perpendicular to the roadway so that the biker doesn't have to shoulder check when giving way to the cars entering the freeway. (Im assuming that im correct)

A question I’ve had for a while: Why are there some COMPASS cameras that are not accessible to the public via 511on.ca or by other general methods. For example: - Hwy 400 from N. of Langstaff to S. of King Rd - Highway 427 between Hwy 401 and the QEW - Highway 410 from Courtney Park to at least...
