I do the same...with the addition of One Delisle, which I think is the other wonderful Toronto project currently under construction. These three make quite the trifecta.
Palace Pier is one of my favourite developments in the city. I don't think it looks dated, though it certainly captures the look of certain time. I love the quality, especially compared to a lot of the value-engineered, spandrel-clad buildings going up today.
What ever happened to the park that was meant to replace the surface parking lot at the foot of Yonge Street, directly to the West of Pier 27? Years and years ago, I recall that being part of the renderings of Pier 27.
It appears that the "design" is the bottom of a giant stylized "92". My guess is that the duplicate "92"s are temporary wand will be removed when the giant "92" is complete.
I love the elegance of this building and the quality of the materials. That said...it seems like the opening panels randomly switch between the left and the right side. Would that be by design, or could it simply be an installation error?
