I think even more people have given up due to the awful, inflexible, puritan pro-modernist arrogance. If UT do another one of their pub nights, I'd love to go and see if some of you guys are as annoying in person as you are on this forum.
Does anyone know of any Toronto skyscraper forums that...
Yeah for sure. I have no love for dreary old modernist stock. While I have even less love for this "church", I like what they're adding to the street. I'll take colour and variation over that dirty slab. Bring it on!
Excellent news. This is a favourite of mine. Love the postmodern style. Hope to see more like this, and it will also bring more people into the St Lawrence neighbourhood.
And for anyone tempted to say "PoMo is SO 80s", I would respond by saying, "Hating PoMo is SO 2011!" :)
No, just the earlier new renders (not the original design), but thanks for sharing. If the renders are to be trusted (I know that's a big if) I'm liking project this more and more.
I don't wanna sound like a jerk, but wouldn't all these investor/hotel related posts be better suited to the real-estate thread, rather than the projects and construction thread? Those of us with a concrete fetish are getting sidetracked! :)
This makes the big assumption that ALL the investors are similar, greedy people, who "deserved" this. I'm betting the reality is there are a mixture of investors from different backgrounds. Even if they are not, I'm not going to assume they're all rich big-shots who needed to get stung by...
I think the last few comments prove my earlier point. Why would anyone who lives in Toronto WANT a project to fail? Why would anyone want to feel smug that people could lose money? Just to get a dig in about Trump? To solidify some political or socioeconomic stance?
I also hear of people taking...
As an immigrant here in Toronto, I notice a real difference between the attitudes of those who have lived here their whole lives, and those who have emigrated here. I don't want to generalize, and I'm not saying this is across the board, but more and more I hear born-and-bred Torontonians...
I'd always wondered at what point does a frivolous online comment become a point of libel. Are forum postings governed by the same laws as the printed press etc. I'm not suggesting this applies here, but this old article from 2006 is an interesting read...
Unruly world of Internet leads to rise...
haha. My wording wasn't great.
What I was trying to say was I can separate the man, the politics, and the business.
Kinda like when you enjoy the music of an artist who's really a jerk. :)
