MP40PH #612 is on a 10 car consist with cab car 316 at the end. 208 is seen here trailing 9th. This consist has been sitting at Willowbrook for a while.
So that's where it was all these months! I last saw 253 in August 2024, the paint was starting to fade so it was only a matter of time before it would be repainted.
AFAIK the Milton line is owned by CPKC, they are unwilling to let GO have more service, as they lease a single track in one direction of travel, and only at certain time slots. The provincial government must negotiate with CP for a bypass track to be built in order to increase service.
Either way the cab car is ugly, either a Rotem cab with asymmetrical windows or a CEM cab car. And most railfans hate them because of bad horns (K2 on the Rotem and K5CA-LS on the CEM), but they're generally safer than gallery cars/old BiLevels though.
True, both Caltrain and Metra need to get rid of their Gallery coaches as soon as possible, one door per side is awful. Gallery cars are better for intercity service rather than commuter service.

I heard they had them on certain agencies, we used to have tables and coat hooks that were removed when the priority alarm/yellow strip was installed. Overhead luggage areas would obstruct the yellow emergency strips.

AFAIK GO Transit has partial CEM features on cab cars 255-257 which were built in 2012/2013, retrofitting these on the old cab cars 200-214 would likely be unfeasible, however.
Quick question, how do you even identify a K5CA-LS from a K5LA by looking at it? From a distance (when filming at the bridge near Willowbrook), they look very similar.
