The guy is a big moron but this part of what he said is being misunderstood like he was saying he would do that to her. What he was actually referencing was an incident that happened in England to a reporter there. He was clearly trying to say that yelling something obscene isn't as bad as that...
I still don't understand why he had to sell the Mirvish Village converted homes and not just Honest Eds. But that part is done. If Westbank had any respect for the neighborhood, they would only redevelop where Honest Eds stands and leave the homes next to it.
Sadly, I can't imagine a world...
Politicians are so gutless. They never do what is right even if it's blindingly obvious. Everyone can see how terrible the Beer Store is and how it makes no sense to have a government approved monopoly- but they never do what is right. I wish just for once they would just do what is better for...
The plan looks great! I just hope the interesting elements don't get scaled down or cut completely once it receives approval though. Also, Riocan being involved doesn't make me optimistic for the type of retail businesses that will be moving in here.
My wife is from the States (New York) and her impression from living there her whole life is that nobody seems to mention Chicago that doesn't live in the midwest. It just isn't on the list of American cities that people talk about anymore (her opinion)
Thank you for the information.
It makes me sad that Pape Station is going to look like that for a long time. It makes no sense that this happened. I just can't picture such awful looking art on subway walls anywhere else in the world. I am usually not one to complain about Toronto in this way...
I just went past this station today. What the heck happened with that artwork?! Why is there mid-90s horrible photoshop effects on the photos? This is just terrible and it makes me wonder how they decided on the artist to use for this station. There is no way they held a competition or...
If that is the case, then I hope whatever beat this beautiful design was chosen because it is even better.. and not because it would be cheaper to make or less offensive to boring buyers.
Thanks for the people in the thread that are posting the photo updates. I'm not a religious person but I find this to be quite an interesting set of buildings and I will definitely visit the museum when it is open!
City Hall is a really impressive and important looking building.. Aside from the CN Tower, it was the building my wife noticed most on her first trip to Toronto. She had never heard of it or seen it beforehand but noticed it and loved it immediately when we walked past it.
