Why is it that you feel so strongly that the relief line be a mainline RER-type system? It provides relief to existing subway lines and integrates existing with subway lines. A regional system would be for serving commuters from much farther distances, and it would not serve local travel well...

Well it took me 4 hours to get home yesterday EB via 939, counted 10 cars, a van and a bus that got stuck on the hill between Leslie & Don Mills and turned Finch into a literal parking lot ??

From the Making Headway report it seems that the TTC won't be exercising the option with Bombardier for the 60 extra cars, since they're pushing it out to 2025+. No guarantees that Flexities will be purchased as they could start a new procurement at that time.

IIRC the Crosstown vehicles will always be run in 2 or 3 car trains. So there will always be a cab on both ends even though a single car might only have 1 cab.

I'm pretty sure the speed limit on that stretch in front of E5 is 40km/h, but its great to see them moving much faster than before :)

It is indeed grade separated. I think it's just as mentioned above, any problem at the wye would have a huge effect to the entire system.

Those streetcar lines have way too many stops and little signal priority to make them comparable to LRT service.

Only cars up to 4466 are affected by that issue. So 4471 and 4478 are good.
