Sheppard Line 4 Subway Extension (Proposed)

The most likely option would be constructing tail tracks at the east end of the line to store trains overnight like what is being done on the SSE. This would be a 3 or 4 track wide "storage" yard", 2 trains deep for a capacity of either 6 or 8 trains. Wilson Yard could be used for overnight...

Sheppard Line 4 Subway Extension (Proposed)

Just to add on here is the official plan from the Sheppard East LRT EA.

Sheppard Line 4 Subway Extension (Proposed)

The yard for the Sheppard East LRT (and Scarborough Malvern LRT) was to be along Sheppard just east of Morningside Ave. I believe that is still the plan today for the Eglinton East LRT.

    TTC: Streetcar Network

The tracks along Blantyre Ave (the Blantyre Branch) were built by the Toronto & Scarboro Electric Railway which used them during summer. In fact the tracks along Blantyre weren't even on the street but instead on an elevated right-of-way. The tracks were torn up and reused to extend the main...

    Transit Fantasy Maps

So I have made what I believe should be my final maps for the streetcar network unless I can think of something else. The first map is of the "Tripper" services from around the mid-1930's. Tripper's only operated in peak directions during rush-hour (inbound during the A.M. rush and outbound...

    TTC: Streetcar Network

Adobe Illustrator I chose Stavebank instead of just Port Credit since the latter doesn't really tell you where in Port Credit the line ends. I know the original line only made it as far as the Credit River and Stavebank Road is the nearest road to the river.

Another map, this one showing the streetcar network at its peak under the TTC in 1931. This map also shows the 3 lines that were owned by the Township of York Railway's but operated by the TTC under contract. Just like before this map uses a New York system with letters denoting TTC routes...

    TTC: Streetcar Network

Made another map, this one based around the Toronto Railway Company, Toronto Civic Railway, and Toronto Suburban Railway at their peaks after World War I before they became part of the TTC in 1921. This map is the same as last time with it using a New York style designation system. TRC routes...

    TTC: Streetcar Network

Made this map showing the Streetcar network at the peak of the Toronto Street Railway era before there operating charter expired in 1891; this was before electrification when the lines were still operated by horse-drawn cars. The real routes never had any kind of designation and were just known...

    Toronto Eglinton Line 5 Crosstown West Extension | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

You are correct the Eglinton West Subway had no proposal to be extended to Yonge Street at the time it was thought up, and this carried over to the Rae days when the line was truncated. The line had it been built in either form (to Pearson or Mount Dennis) would have been completely useless to...

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

I was using school buses for field trips all the way up until the last one I went on in 2010 (Grade 10 field trip to the Science Centre). I never had to take a TTC bus for a field trip and the only time we didn't use a school bus was for trips outside of Toronto; for those they would charter a...
