Could have paid tribute to original inhabitants of Toronto with a lovely display on the podium rather than adding the mystery logo. Toronto is an aboriginal name anyway. Maple leaf is totally unnecessary. Of course the denizens of city hall cluttered up the sign. It’s what they do.

Looks like the pace might be picking up on this SLOW moving project.

The pyramids took less time to build than this project.

Is the Art Deco building part of this project? The renderings suggest it’s being restored.

I agree with you Capslock. It is looking incoherent. I’m hoping that the podia for the various buildings will somehow bring unity at street level even though their designs are disparate.

Looks a lot like the “sculptures” done by Christo.

Nice looking interior. Thanks for posting the photo MetroMan. Like everyone else, I can't wait to see this building go up but I'm running out of patience. It's unfolding like the episodes of a mini series

The podium greatly improves the streetscape along Shuter. Well done! Too bad about the tower though. The random placement of the balconies looks like a skin disease to me. I get itchy looking at it.

No photos but it looks like the sidewalks on Wellesley are getting rebuilt to accommodate an entrance to the proposed park for this site. Hopefully construction of the park will start soon.

The podium is looking good but I prefer the 2017 tower proposal. The latest iteration looks very heavy to me.

Yonge Street Revitalization (Downtown Yonge BIA/City of Toronto)

Does anyone know if there is there any imminent news about the status of this project? I attended a workshop over a year ago that presented various configurations of street and pedestrian traffic but have heard nothing since. As has been the case for over 40 years, this is a low priority project...

Poor thing. Such a bad case of dermatitis.

I wonder (hope) if they will start building the park this spring?

This can’t possibly get built... I hope. It’s a clumsy mess but, I suppose, the podium plus one floor up could work out if good materials are used. Very discouraging.
