Thanks for the explanation. Cool to see the giraffe building finally getting torn down and that the Tim’s replacement is nearing construction. I actually intend to go into TMU’s BURPI program next year so knowing these things beforehand will probably be useful. Also do you know how to see the...
Holy moly. A little surprised that smaller mid rise on glen is getting torn down. Not shocked about that small office next to that tower under construction is getting torn down though.
I am however kinda sad that stretch of shops on the corner of keele and Bloor is gonna go away. My family...
Is there any chance at all the architecture of the site will change? I got no issues with the idea of a tower of such size in the lot, but maaaaaaaaan it’s ugly. Despite my love of urban planning I haven’t gotten a good understanding of the application process.
New render looks SHIIIIIIITTTTT. Its like somebody frankensteined that one tower with the italian resturant on high park and a generic white monolith. That better be changed up in the permit process.
Has anything happened with this yet? Its been 2 years and I haven't seen any construction in the area. I'm aware sewage + utilities are an important aspect in new developments, but dammmmm.
Holy crap, a tower that A: HAS COLOUR?????? and B: ITS GREEEEEN??????!!??!?!? ALSO KNOWN AS THE COOLEST SHITTING COLOUR TO MAKE A BUILDING EVER!?!?!?!?!?!? AND PUBLIC REALM????? Whoever thought of this needs a raise.
Asked the arch firm behind the development about any public-facing plans for the building itself. Seen their prior work and I'm optimistic this'll turn out nice. I'll get back to the thread later with any pics if possible.
Still hate how that money mart just sits right next to the station. Ignoring how scummy its practices are, it wastes extremely valuable land. Same for that random crack shack next to the 7-eleven.
