Yes, the rendering represents long-term plans. The hotel would operate for "an unspecified number of years." 42

    Toronto Eglinton Line 5 + GO: Caledonia Station | 11.72m | 2s | Metrolinx | McCallum Sather

The GO connection is going to be amazingly stupid. There should have been knockout panels built on the fare line level of the subway station, so that a direct connection could have been established between it and the GO platforms via short tunnels. But no, in their infinite lack of wisdom...

    Toronto Union Station Revitalization | ?m | ?s | City of Toronto | NORR

Did Union Station ever have split-flap departure or arrivals displays (aka Solari boards)? I love them, but they've certainly been of vogue for 30 years now. They cost many thousands to build (and no idea on their maintenance costs), so I'm not sure what a pair of boards would cost to represent...

    Toronto 400 King West | 164.58m | 49s | Plaza | BDP Quadrangle

There's no parapet. Back in Nov '24, they got an MVA approved to redo the top of the building. Originally the top three floors were all going to be multi-storey penthouses, with the mechanical penthouse and elevator overrun all incorporated into a flat roof, but those big units did not sell...

This ain't your Dad's phase two: Pinnacle has submitted a completely new plan for this half of the site. READ ALL ABOUT IT!!! 42

    Toronto 50 Wilson Heights | 58.85m | 17s | Tridel + Greenwin + CreateTO | Kirkor

Balconies can be "thermally broken" so that they don't act as radiators for a building. Cladding quality needs to improve with the drop in the size of windows. Both can be done but developers here don't push enough for solutions that may be rare or untested here, but which are common in Europe. 42

Maybe we've run outta glass. We're using so much of it elsewhere. 42

Just black-painted particle board or something similar on the heritage windows? It's been months... 42

    Toronto 2 Bloor West Podium Redevelopment | ?m | 2s | KingSett Capital | WZMH

Why would they continue the horizontal banding across the facade where the two-storey high lobby for the office tower is? Way to undercut the front doors, now just any other retail entrance. 42

    Toronto CAMH Queen | 60.3m | 7s | CAMH | KPMB + HOK + TreanorHL + Diamond Schmitt

Thank you both @kotsy @reinventingthewheel. While 'bubble deck' sounds curable with something off the shelf, 'voided biaxial slab' definitely sounds like something you'd need a prescription for. Still, the info plus the photo = perfect PoTD for tomorrow. Cheers! 42

Hey @kotsy, any chance you got a close-up of the objects that are being used to spell out the company names there? I'm pretty curious regarding what they might be... 42

    Toronto 150 Queens Wharf | 138.69m | 37s | TCHC | Karakusevic Carson Architects

Surely the expertise can be hired. I am left curious though regarding the financing of TCHC buildings... This is all being advanced with TCHC not having a capital budget for this or other projects, like 405 Sherbourne that @HousingNowTO mentions, or at Swansea Mews which isn't mentioned here...

    Toronto The United BLDG | 184.85m | 54s | Davpart | B+H

There are no plan at all that would connect this to the PATH network. Maybe those websites you mention are misconstruing the fact that this will have a direct connection to the subway network as the same thing as being PATH connected. It is just one step removed... 42
