They will already need to extend the subway westward from Sheppard West and surface thereafter to connect to Wilson yard. At this point a surface connection to Downsview Station and GO would make some sense and given the massive future redevelopment plans set for this area.
Could be, that said I do not recall ever seeing in Toronto a tower crane installing a climbing frame after the fact without a significant dismantling of crane. It begs the question why wasn't the climbing frame installed when this tower crane was first erected just months ago?
Given the long tail track that would be required west of Sheppard West Station to connect Line 4 to Wilson yard, they should extend the line at the surface level with a terminal station beside Downsview Park Station providing direct connection to Barrie G0 line, a second connection to Line 1 and...
Maybe. That said it seems counterproductive and costly to add that section after-the-fact unless this is not the final position of this tower crane. I envisioned that if they had a tower crane attached externally to the tower portion of building it would have been atop the southside lower roof...
Strange but the new tower crane assembled and attached to building's exterior has no climbing cage? For the moment it would suggest that this tower crane or its position will change again at some point?
The real mark of upward progress is when they will need to raise the tower crane which I believe will be for the first time since it was re-erected to its current position to climb along on the south exterior side of the tower. That should be coming soon.
