Sad to see the Former Toronto Maple Leafs owner Harold Ballard's house being demolished. The house on Montgomery Rd. will be taken down to make way for the new Tridel Condo.
Who wants to attempt to get this registered as a Toronto Heritage Property ? Wink Wink
:rolleyes::rolleyes:
This would be an incredible development ! A sexy midrise on Bloor / Montgromery would work well here ... and Perhaps some street front retail with restaurants and patio would be a bonus.
It's preposterous that they would only develop 3 homes on that street. How can this be allowed? There are still 2 and 3 houses north and south remaining. And who are the other landowners that did not sell their existing houses on that street? The city should enforce stricter planning...
There were underground utility / drainage / services issues that require re-engineering. This is not confirmed, but was heard thru a trusted source. Also, the other rumour is the partnership with Tridel in developing the condo portions is taking considerable effort to develop. I...
Looks like they are renewing leases for the Humbertown Plaza for 2-3 years. I have heard through sources that there are engineering changes, and some obstacles on the property that require further investigating. They will not be breaking ground for a few years.
Interesting development here. I agree with the previous poster .... why keep St Stevens Ct? Why not reconfigure the entire property. (I guess you can't mess with a public road ?)
I don't see any retail / commercial becoming reality in this development. These are going to be...
Looks like they have begun the excavation and grading of the new Six Points interchange south of Bloor. I assume they are going to re route traffic before taking down the bridges ?
The press release states that there will be 'new community space' 20,000 sq ft to be approximate.... A new high school on the former Brockton lot, consolidating Bloor Coll. and tenants into the new building. Then below it says "mixed use development". So at this point it is...
I have a good friend moving over from Europe. Who's son will attend a class in the former Kent PS building. His family will be getting a house in the neighbourhood.... but will the Building be demolished ??? Will the German / Art / Learning classes be moving ?? This is a big deal...
You are absolutely right....its all about branding. The Trump was sold to the public 7 years ago, when Mr. Trump was a fairly successful media, property and hotel mogul. His star had risen quite well in the 2000's, but here we are in 2012, when he has lost his lustre, and his image has...
The big difference is that 1 King West went on sale 10 years ago....you could have bought a condo for $249,000 and make the equivalent profit with todays room rates. So yes, they could be profitable at this point.
Trump units are going for $900,000 and renting our for $450 a night. As one...
Just drove by the site, looks like they are digging the foundation, and starting to install the beams.
Too bad this is a retirement residence, it would be a beautiful location for a residential condo since it backs on to the Humber River.
The old folks will have nice views, no doubt.
This was the easiest report found on the internet.

I also posted about this last year, there have already been site renderings and proposals made about this land, but I can't find them anymore. You can try and...
I read recently that the City of Toronto is looking to sell off the land at Islington/Bloor (Bus station and parking lots) to a private developer. The proposal is to build 2-3 condo towers and commercial space.
