The micro retail has really caught my eye. Can you guys imagine all the untapped talent in Toronto taking advantage of this?

For me personally, this is a significant improvement to this area of downtown Toronto. I remember when it was so crime ridden and full of drugs so to see this being built is a great thing.

I agree. The podium is nicer in person. I find the pavement and lighting features to be much better than a Scarborough strip mall. Also, I think some pretty good retail will take up the space and improve it further.

I have to give it to their marketing department, this project is being advertised all over downtown on key corners. I even saw one at bay and adelaide. It seems destined to be one of the hottest selling projects of the year.

Condolife says this the atrium here will be 50 feet! I wonder, how many developments in Toronto come close to or exceed this height.

It definitely matters, though not to a tremendous degree. Great teams and players today demand great facilities to practice in. Just to clarify, the functionality I see is more in the internal rather than the external design. This will be the new basketball mecca for downtown Toronto.

If this gets approved it will definitely sweeten the deal for free agents, knowing they can train in an authentic world class facilitiy by the lakeshore. It's not beautiful but it is very functional. Imagine the possibilities: In a few years on the Raptors Andrew Wiggins, Anthony Bennet, and...

I must say after looking at the staff report, they seem very intent on getting a serious restaurant in the square. I didn't think they'd be so meticulous about it, but several pages revolve around developing this new restaurant. It would be pretty cool to eat dinner on the second level while...

I agree. I was really just responding to his question what happens at night around the Thompson hotel area, as that's what really does happen. Nothing to do with negative stereotypes either.

I'm in the area frequently. With all due respect to previous responders, this area really does come alive at night. You'll see Lamborghini's, Porsche's, Maserati's and good looking young professionals a plenty, especially on the weekend. Numerous celebrities come by here too.

Looks like the new "it" restaurant in the city is Collette Grand Cafe, which just opened at the base of Thompson replacing Scarpetta. Check out some pics from their Facebook. Apparently it's quite popular with the Rolls Royce, Ferrari, Aston Martin crowd: $10 for rice...

    Toronto Peter Street Condominiums | 129.84m | 40s | CentreCourt | a—A

I don't think it's "blind hatred" at all. It would be nice to see more variety in the core. Like TheKingEast said there's another Starbucks right around the corner. I'm thinking one of a kind retail/restaurants, maybe a wild donought shop, burger place, mexican all you can eat, or Hello Kitty...

Not Another Starbucks! What is up with these developers? You'd think they would go after the very best retail to reflect their claims in advertising. Instead it's Starbucks, Shoppers, or a bank.

Good grief! These renderings are so incredibly bad I'm at a loss for words. You're right, it actually looks like something a kid designed in The Simsâ„¢. They should be absolutely embarrassed.

Not to derail the thread, but I just checked out the NEO website. Wow! Those may very well be the best interiors I've ever seen in a condo. Next level stuff.
