    Toronto Eglinton Line 5 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

I remember when announcements were first implemented on Mississauga buses, they were not automated, it was the drivers doing them. Sometimes they would yell or sing sarcastically. It's just an accessibility issue, I am happy to not be one of those who suffers from blindness, so I won't complain...

    miWay Transit

Right, I forgot about the buses. Milton train around 31k per weekday, bus around 6k per weekday. Lakeshore West train 64k. Before COVID anyways... Before the LRT construction, I preferred to take the 103 all the way down to Port Credit outside rush hour. They replaced the 38 on...

    miWay Transit

I was talking about average weekday boardings, not annual boardings, because the transit mode share numbers are for commutes only. Of course Milton Line is not going to have high annual boardings since there is no service outside of weekday peak hours.

    Toronto Eglinton Line 5 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

I always preferred TTC buses over MiWay because they had three forward seat arrangement instead of four seats. Four seats just too tight, especially near the doors. Side facing seats not much better, and of course if people's legs stick out, then people standing have to reach further to hold...

    Billy Bishop Airport Expansion?

At this point I'm just waiting for Doug Ford to revive the Spadina and Scarborough Expressways.

Why does Toronto pick such horrible names for public spaces, stations, airports etc.?

Just be glad that Doug Ford hasn't renamed Toronto streets after himself and his family (yet).

The Milton Line actually. Probably 2 or 3 times the ridership of the Clarkson and Port Credit stations. Brampton is an "edge city" - not many of its residents work in Toronto - so it has lower transit mode share than the other 905 municipalities. That's why I caution comparing YRT service and...

    Mississauga Hurontario-Main Line 10 LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

I lived in that last building from grade 4 to 12. So weird to see light rail tracks in front of it. Those pedestrian tunnels were built and the road widened to 6 lanes during time too. I think about how bad traffic is now with the construction, but it was just as bad back then before the...

    All-You-Can-Eat Sushi

Lol, I miss Urban Shocker, my favourite user on UrbanToronto. I think he was Building Babel before? He was already old back then, so I guess he has passed. I had all-you-can-eat sushi almost everyday in Quebec years ago. It wasn't actually an all-you-can-eat restaurant, but it was my dad's...

Graph comparing transit/walk/bike mode share of various suburbs in US and Canada. As you can see, Mississauga still has a lot of catching up to do.

Hamilton - Main St. E. redesign

Problem was never one-way streets, but a wide road with no parallel parking to calm traffic and provide a buffer between the traffic and the sidewalk. Rue Ste-Catherine in Montreal is one-way.

APTA Q4 2025 numbers are out and it is bleak. Over 10% loss in 2025. https://www.apta.com/wp-content/uploads/2025-Q4-Ridership-APTA.pdf HOWEVER, 2024 was a record high, after correcting for overcounting of ridership in previous years. The 2023 ridership was corrected from over 45.1 million...
