I really do agree. I think the design of the buildings are beautiful, if this were just glass boxes then this would be different story. It seems like they are realising that more opportunities for interesting retail, work spaces, recreation and culture is what this community needs. It's...
The Hearn was supposedly sold off-site to some film production company called 'studios of America'. God knows if that's true. I hope it isn't — Cirque Du Soleil/An avant garde exhibition studio/cultural institution like the Tate in London would fit well here.
Usually there will be more pressure to densify once these developments come to fruition. Although, first capital should
There are varying building heights, and some are tall which is fine because toronto is going to add an extra million people by the time it is done. They look really pretty...
I 100% agree with you. None of them are world-class, but some of them are still open for feedback if they were to be shortlisted. I feel like Toronto needs a development that screams more culture, and something that would make living in such a sterile place tolerable. Maybe this is our best...

Does anyone know if Henning-Larsen and the original architects previously arranged to design this site (under first gulf) are still designing East harbour under new leadership (Cadillac Fairview)? This development feels very quiet lately.
The waterfront LRT is of this point in time being studied to be extended to parklawn, so there will be good transit here to support density. There is also a ferry option being studied as well as a GO station as you know.
I emailed Oxford properties in order to request for further public engagement because this is my hood and this is the first time a lot of us are hearing about this, I would suggest you email them too. They said they would send my inquiry to the 'rightful person' but I haven't heard anything.
100% there will be. Pearson airport will approach overcapacity in the early 2030s, and with the Toronto area growing so fast there needs to be more runways for cargo planes as well as domestic flights. Don't quote me on that but there is a few articles about runway demand in the GTA and what...
hahah sorry I meant the most recent public engagement on the city of Toronto website where you could comment or 'suggest an idea'. here https://engage.toronto.ca/projects/city-planning/christies-planning-study-public-engagement/ literally a lot of people were like 'NO TALL TOWERS'
Scroll to...
Everyone on the public engagement was against density, when in reality toronto has to be dense in order to be sustainable to grow further in the future. Is it ultimately up to the city or the developers when it comes to heights of buildings and density et ?
thanks for the info ^ I keep checking the East Harbour website but there is no info about the Design or anything else. Henning & Larsen was going to design it but w First Capital gone i’m anxious about it becoming any other bland development
