I also used them st Bay on Saturday and found them fairly responsive, TBH. However, someone I was with who used them at Main station said they opened slower than at Main, so presumably this is a calibration problem or a bug to work out.
It was fun watching people react to them, especially when...
Is it just me, or does it feel like this building is taking forever to bring down despite it being a fairly simple structure?
Or is it all the reinforcement that's making it slow?
An update on the former Sully's Sandwich Shop on Gerrard between Carlaw and Logan - new signage shows it's now Hangry Catering. Sadly, no more sandwich shop.
I do find it extremely curious that the true details of the delays aren't really known yet. I'm sure there's not one simple reason, but still - it seems odd that in this age of great investigative journalism that nobody has managed to dig into this story more.
I could be just me - when they say "downtown Toronto" I think of a dense high-rise - not a low density film studio site. If they said "just outside downtown Toronto" that might have made better sense.
Sorry, just splitting hairs - I'll shut up now!
That is pathetic.
Sadly, though, not surprising for Shoppers. They are terrible at anything other than template "stamp em out" stores in a big box power centre.
I don't get this, either. They operate on mostly the same track, so how can GO continue to operate?
I give them kudos for upping their crisis communications, though.
Further info - when my cab arrived at T1, I could see from the departures drop off area that the YYZ UPX station was full of people, and there was no train on either platform, nor visible on the guideway.
As far as subbing in a spare set, I don't think that's a quick operation - surely it would...
Arrived at Union UPX station around 1:30pm today - departure countdown showed 3 minutes, but there was no train in the station, so I knew something was up.
After the counter had counted down and looped around (showing 14 minutes) there was a meek station announcement about a "brief delay". I...
I sat at the Union UPX station yesterday and watched a train arrive and depart three times, around 2pm. The trains were all quite busy, lots of luggage. Anecdotally it was primarily airport travellers.
They also seemed to have done away with the full time person watching the platform doors...
Re the unidentified building... The backdrop and the construction almost make it appear temporary, like a condo sales centre, though I don't think those really existed back in the 70s.
