It's an outpost of the Davenport Garden center, not affiliated with the store. so you could buy stuff all year round, or at least most of the year. Expensive but high quality.
I drove past the Davenport garden center (at 1500) on Saturday and noticed it was gone. There was a development board up though I didn't slow down to look at the details. The garden structure was all year round as it's where I bought my Christmas tree as well.
Lord I hate this. So many incredible moments at the Phoenix and of course the Diamond before it. Nick Cave, Shriekback back in day. ISIS, Bonobo, Godspeed. Sigh. I was just looking at all the gigs that were showing up this year and next. Losing Kool Haus, The Hoxton and now the Phoenix just...
Jean-Jacques and crew have been operating this restaurant in various forms since the early eighties (late seventies). They have built one of the great collections of wines and continue to deliver an experience that will be missed when it's gone.
The are also at the forefront of the "tax every...
Tech is the same. There is an element connection lost when you can work with people directly. The whole "WFH will ruin productivity" ship has sailed and it was always about control. Hopefully we end up seeing a balance. For commuters, getting 1-3 hours of their life back every day is worth...
I worked in the left building back in the day when it was Joe Allens. Joe Allens was a true theater restaurant with one in NYC, London, maybe Paris. The restaurant moved to the Danforth (Allens) which of course meant Joe's was no longer. Still history lost. It was a messy and wonderful old...
On the eleventh day, the gods of the forests and Toronto's building boom degreed that "From this day hence, all glass, even those that looked clear in the models shall be green". Do you think they just ordered the wrong glass and said, to hell with it, let's build it anyway?....sigh.
I drove past The Well yesterday with some brilliant sunshine bouncing off the sea foam. I was looking to see if it fared any better in the sunlight. My first take was shiver and Bazis Emerald Park. Not a good look. Maybe it will be cloudy and grey for the rest of time and it'll look better (on...
Yeah, didn't see the waterfront LRT in the Ford funding priorities. Bring on the Google train. Maybe they can sneak in a surreptitious Gardiner tear down while they are at it.
