GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

Fills a 65-minute gap in the Lakeshore East service at Scarborough. Train 724 (Union 16:40) has to skip Danforth and Scarborough to be able to turn around in time at Oshawa.

It does seem to work that way for local to local transfers. A trip starting in York Region and ending in Brampton costs the YRT fare, the other direction costs the BT fare. Does anyone know how these agreements between the 905 agencies came to be?

    Toronto Union Pearson Express | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | MMM Group Limited

Until a few weeks ago the rumours here (too lazy to find a source) were that they were building only three tracks and setting two of them aside for UPX. With only one track for GO without passing tracks, a 1.5 hour frequency is the most you could do, which as nfitz shows comes out to around 10...

Yes it will go under the existing streets. See http://www.mississauga.ca/file/COM/BRT_PICPlan_FieldgatetoRenforth_sm.jpg The ramp connecting with the East Mall was supposed to be converted. Don't know when or if they are still planning to do it.

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

I had my hopes high up when the draft Official Plan came out saying residential would be allowed in the Dixie district. It turned out that wasn't intended, though if the Dun-Dix Square developer hadn't tried to get the node boundary fixed the wording could have slipped through.

They are *looking* at variable pricing? Meaning they originally thought people would pay $20-$30 for Weston to the airport? My god this is embarrassing.

^ Avenue to Mount Pleasant is planned to have one lane per direction with left turn lanes. The rest of the project will be two lanes. See the "Mega Map" on the study site.

How about having it continue west from Hurontario to Mavis and turn south onto the OBRY to end at Streetsville? It would likely have trouble with NIMBYs in Meadowvale Village but would it make sense as part of the network?

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

All I have is this from the Kitchener EA (see last page), which shows 23 trips in total, including the same three midday round trips from before GTS. Of course this is the Kitchener EA and not the GTS one, but one can hope that the study teams didn't come up with schedules in isolation...

This sounds like a sensible explanation, but based on the midday Bramalea trains GO used to run (and plan to run after GTS), at 1.5 to 2.5 hour "frequency", it looks like they don't share this reasoning.

From what I've seen even the current track layout can support hourly trains to Mount Joy, using the new passing track south of Unionville. There would be a 50 minute long layover at Union at first but after GTS is finished it could be interlined with an hourly Newmarket service.

The March 29 board is already posted and it doesn't include any BRT related changes. They're probably aiming for May now.

By 27 do you mean 43? I've heard similar things from MT staff, that the 43 will be gone after the BRT opens. What I haven't heard is what will replace it, will it be split up, or will we finally have a two-way Matheson route?
