    Pickering Airport (Transport Canada/GTAA, Proposed)

Interesting about Calgary. I remember when YYZ expanded 5/23 to 11,500ft in the late 90s. Even with the altitude at YYC, I can't imagine anything would ever need 14k feet to get off the ground.

Going strictly by memory I thought Mirabel had the largest at 200x12,000ft which beats Pearson.

    Woodbine Centre

Anyone remember JJ Muggs in that mall? I think the last time I was there was probably '99 or 2k. What ever became of the old Cineplex theatres? Used to have to make the drive from south Etobicoke until they opened Cineplex Sherway in the fall of '87.

Miscellany Toronto Photographs: Then and Now

I have fond memories of riding the wilson bus to Yorkdale with my mum in probably 1974 or 1975 when I was about four or five. I'd have a grilled cheese sandwich at the counter in either the Simpson's or Eaton's cafeteria. Man those photos bring back memories!

    Pickering Airport (Transport Canada/GTAA, Proposed)

The triangle gets protected at all costs, at least at Air Canada. There will be no reduction and there's a reason why they have so many flights. It is premium heavy and always has been since the Rapidair brand was introduced in the early 70s. Fleet planning requires a holistic approach that is...

    Pickering Airport (Transport Canada/GTAA, Proposed)

Can't believe you guys are still at it with this thread but good on ya. A few points: 1. Pickering only works in the next ten years if Pearson is shut down and there is very likely little chance of that. 2. Thinking that asian carriers that fly once a day, or any carrier with once daily...

    Toronto Pearson International Airport

It's not like BBD is producing a ton of these new jets every single day so in the overall scheme of things, they aren't going to require a ton of slots. No reason why they can't takeoff or land on the 15s or 33s on a one off basis while the regular pattern is on the 05/23 or 06/24 pattern.

    Bombardier shopping Downsview Airport facility

Looks to me like it is going on the old shooting range right beside Fedex.

I don't believe so. DHC is moving Dash 8 production.

Just announced that Bombardier will move Bizjet production from Downsview to Pearson. Move will happen by 2023.

    Pickering Airport (Transport Canada/GTAA, Proposed)

It's an unfortunate scenario but I don't think the lack of a terminal area forecast out of YKZ made any difference. At the very least he would get wx from YTR or YGK. What would make a difference was if he wasn't IFR rated, was flying a full pax load, and was at max range. It would be...

Ah. For some reason I had it in my brain that they would do a new build rather than a retrofit. Your analysis makes sense since they have had the fencing up for a couple of months now.

I was by there on Sunday and demolition hasn't really started in any meaningful way. If they don't start soon I think they may be challenged to open by the end of 2020. Spring of 2021 is likely a more realistic date.
