    Toronto Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s

This part of the UrbanToronto piece really struck me: Maybe I'm missing something but this plan (the Ontario Line in general) seems pretty ill-considered compared to the Relief Line. I also wonder if the smaller, shorter trains are going to result in a Canada Line-type scenario where the...

Dundas West/ Bloor Mobility Hub +interconnected hub network (Metrolinx)

Not knowing about this thread, I happened to contact Metrolinx about this tunnel and received the below reply yesterday. They said it will be completed by 2022 (which contradicts the reply given to Mrgeosim last month that completion is expected for 2023).

I emailed Metrolinx to ask when the pedestrian tunnel between Bloor station and Dundas West TTC station will open. They replied that it will be completed in 2022 (no exact date yet known). (Sorry if this is common knowledge)

Thanks for the info. As an outsider looking in I admit I am mostly ignorant about underground utilities and surface connections. I had no clue the Cherry streetcar would be extended southward. Here is the Preferred Alignment with 500 metre catchments: Here's a map with one station deleted...

    Toronto Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s

I was hoping there would just be one station between Yonge and the Don River. I think if you placed the Queen station box on the eastern side of Yonge and moved the "King and Sumach" station farther from the Don River you would still cover the bulk of that area within a 500 metre radius...

Yes they are different cities, but I don't see why many of the successful practices of the Hong Kong MTR would not apply in Toronto. Greater commercialisation of TTC-owned properties, partnership with private developers to undertake topside development, more prudent approach to providing new...

    Toronto Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s

I had the opposite thought. It seems like there is an opportunity to delete 1-2 stations while still putting most within a 500 metre walking radius. Why are the stations in Toronto always so close together compared to modern systems in cities like Hong Kong? I think I have asked a similar...

Nonsense comparison. I live in Hong Kong, and by your logic Hong Kong must have worse traffic congestion than Toronto by virtue of population alone. Of course it doesn't, due to population density coupled with high-capacity public transit.

I like the coloured glass. Makes for an interesting focal point to a clean, crisp, but otherwise somewhat dull and rectangular base.
