It's my understanding that all of the old Durant Motors and Canada Wire & Cable buildings were demolished for the new Leaside SmartCentre.

Interesting how Sutherland is such a prominent street in that photo. The route to Sunnybrook Farm.

yes, i've seen this one, it's lovely for two reasons -- you can really get a sense of the valley behind the grass field, north of where vanderhoof is today

you can also see the leaside jail on the east side of laird at the far right of the picture

I never really thought of that as the top end of Sutherland so much as the stretch you take when you make a left after going most of the way eastbound on Broadway ... perspective, I guess.
