I've never been to Columbus but whatever I've seen from photographs has been generally positive. There looks like a great strip leading out of downtown toward Ohio State University, and they even have trolleybuses.

Columbus,Ohio's German Village: Nice!

Mustapha: Good pics from Columbus,Ohio's German Village section-it looks near Downtown-North I presume going towards Ohio State's campus?
I will note these pics: #2,3-neat row house building with central passageway;
#12-Nice narrow street...
#19-Row house building looks interesting...
#20-former Fire House? nice!

Thanks Mustapha! Some great looking buildings there. Has most of the city been preserved?

Thanks ShonTron, Hipster Duck, androiduk and Long Island Mike..

LIMike: The office towers seen in some of the shots are to the north, and the Ohio State campus is about 2 miles north of the towers. Right on about that row house building w/passageway. There isn't even an airconditioner to mar the vintage wholesomeness. Columbus has Toronto summers - HOT. I suppose there might be central air units out back. The landlord here really cares.

androiduk: German Village is preserved as there is a lot of neighbourhood pride going on here. The rest of older inner city Columbus is much comprised of turn of the century wooden detached houses - like you see in Buffalo. Some areas are kept up, some not so much. There are a lot of 20s-30s bungalows in some areas; with back lanes. The suburbs look like any North American suburb.
