Finch West Line 6 LRT

No we dont know that at all actually ? Since when was Finch west and east exstention funded ?
My apologies, I misread that as construction at Finch for the Yonge subway not the Finch subway.

iirc it's only to Woodbine GO, not to Pearson and definitely not to Yonge.
I don't believe Woodbine is funded yet. There's been so many proposed extensions of this. And the original plan was Yonge to Humber, before the Ontario government cut back the first phase to Keele. And then they've talked about a west extension to Pearson, and even published stuff about an eastern extension to Don Mills station, down Finch East and Don Mills Road. And then more recently just to Woodbine. So that's 5 different plans ...

I would imagine extending Finch LRT eastwards would be a bit complicated if done in the near future because of all the construction at yonge related to the subway extension 💀
🤣

You’re almost ready to be the next Metrolinx CEO coming up with a good excuse like that.

Metrolinx specializes in those but their real special attack is the fake 30 days before the announcement we will announce the announcement so stay tuned for the announcement for the announcement line.

I wish Canadians were more aggressive sometimes. Especially in what would be a national scandal in most other places ((line 5)).

I'd think almost all would have finished a year ago. Many even longer!

Heck, for Eglinton, I'd think quite a few that worked on the tunnelling how since retired from old age! :)
Hopefully we don’t all die of old age before the Eglinton LRT opens

We will be a live hopeful for line 6 opening which is around the corner, most likely line 5, but we may not be around for QQE and Eglinton East Line openings at the rate they are going at these days. One never know when their time is up and don't know when it happens.

im crine son 😭

No one said ts was getting extended there 🥀
There been talk that the Finch Line will end up at Pearson some day as well being extended to Yonge but Woodbine is the next extension in the coming years. One hope the ML has a clue how an LRT should be built in the first place by then as well IO knowing how an LRT should be built and be tender correctly along with how to weed out poor bidders that could low ball the P3 bid.

To be fair to fate Metrolinx is pretty good at holding things up on their own. Memento mori

Honestly woodbine is the only westward extension that's truly necessary. The only case for a Line 6 extension to Pearson I could see is if in some distant future (Alto Maybe?) a proper regional rail facility is built at Pearson to allow for through running trains, allowing for the repurposing of the UP Guideway for Line 6. That's basically it.

I think the Finch LRT team should just be retained and keep them working considering they probably had the best go at a rail transit project in 21st century Ontario history.
I think you'll find a lot of the same contractors/consultants on Finch are also on other projects. It's a small industry (not construction in general, but these transit projects).

Update to the signage that are being rolled out for Line 6’s soft opening. The outside signs on a pole have been put with Line 6’s logo, and some station walls are receiving signage brackets that will point the direction to the new Line 6 pathway. (Signage was also updated on the south Main Entrance, unsure about the North but didn’t get a photo)
