RBC Centre (LEED Gold, CadFair, 41s, KPF/B+H/&Co.) COMPLETE

The current signage adds a colourful vibrancy to the city's nighttime skyline. RBC-Dexia will only add to that. I'm all for the logos.

As an aside, I think it may have been mentioned on UT before, but is Toronto the most logo-ed skyscraper city on the continent?

Not as logo-ed as gambling towns like Atlantic City...

Even within the GTA, downtown is probably not the most logo-ed place. Areas in Toronto with clusters of office parks have the highest concentration of signage, such as Don Mills or Hwy 7/404.

Right now there is:

1. First Canadian Place (once had the highest signage on any building)
2. Scotia Plaza
3. Canada Trust
4. Commerce Court West
5. RBC Centre
6. Bank of America

There's at least a dozen more big ones. Manulife, DBRS, Mackenzie, not to mention upcoming logos for KPMG, PwC, Telus, etc.

There are a TON downtown ... more then anywhere else in the GTA - even Hi-way 7 and the 404 or Vic Park and the like. What's so bad about them though? I think it's fairly common all over the world.

The stacking plan shows other than RBC, Fairmont Raffles Hotels (new merger?) are going to have their offices in this tower as well ...

Fairmont bought out Raffles about 3 years ago I think.

although RBC Centre is physically attached to Simcoe Place on the site plan, the ground floor plan shows no grade level connection between the two buildings, I guess the connection will be through the underground concourse level ~

With the loading docks taking up the entire south side of the ground floor of the RBC Centre, yup, the PATH Concourse is the only way this building is connected to existing Simcoe Place (plus Ritz Carlton to the west and Metro Centre to the north).

And even though both buildings are owned by the same company there's no real reason to connect them at street level. I'm sure they want you down in the PATH hoping you'll use one of the stores down there.

I think RBC needed its logo on a building downtown. It's not like they could stick their logo on Royal Bank Plaza could they? It'd ruin the look.

it will, and numerous restaurants and adjacent food courts and access from the PATH as well as St Andrews TTC station......have heard it will also have opening windows (up to 10th floor) and individual controls to regulate air temp and airflow.....
