It is not just her stance on the Epstein files; MTG has come out hard against Israel and the genocide in Gaza (which she has called a genocide). MTG has called for ending all US funding of Israel, which she always makes a point of referring to as NUCLEAR-ARMED Israel, and she has called for AIPAC to register as a foreign agent under FARA. If you don't understand why MTG's stance qualifies her for a JFK profile in courage award, then you must not understand the basic reality of American politics that AIPAC has bought off most American politicians. You must not understand the seismic shift that is taking place right now, as leading voices in America are coming out against American support of Israel.

It goes for men, too, as per my point about first noticing this oddly stunted pattern with regard to the Ford family.

I think we just might wind up seeing a *lot* of "scared straight" cases out there--a prototype being onetime doctrinaire Teabagger Joe Walsh (the politician-turned-commentator, not the musician). And it *might* be of note that for all of their "weirdness", MTG/Boebert/Mace have *not* sought to take on the more macabre excesses of Mar-a-Lago face.

She also, in no particular order: promoted Trump's false claims of stolen election, decertification of Georgia State election results, fought against all COVID-19 restrictions which likely led to extra deaths in the USA, consistently promotes Russian propaganda about Ukraine, constantly promotes violent rhetoric about Democrats, and not to mention the countless conspiracy theories like Democratic satanists that traffick children, Pizzagate, QAnon, Sandy Hook was a false flag attack, September 11th inside job, various White Genocide conspiracies, etc.

She is an embarrassment.

Like I said, bad people sometimes do good things. What you just said about her position on Israel doesn't absolve her of everything else.

It is fucking rich to hear this woman complaining about Trump calling her a traitor. She has been calling various Democrats traitors for years. She never had a problem with violent rhetoric that put people's lives in danger until it was directed at her. She wasn't interested in America coming together when she was calling for executions of political opponents. That's because she isn't some courageous hero, but a coward.
So no, I don't see her as a "profile in courage". She is a horrible person.

Look, she can fight to release the files. That's fine and it's good. I won't criticize her for that, because I agree with her goal in this case. You're right that Democrats should be working with her (they may already be, I am not sure) on the issue to pressure the government.

But there is a difference between that and embarking on a campaign to turn her into something she is not.

Ultimately, if anyone can "turn her into something she is not", it's herself--not unlike how George Wallace's final stint as Alabama Governor was, in effect, defined by atonement for his earlier sins.

But let's not jump the gun by proclaiming that she *is* at that stage already.
 
I wouldn't trust her or endorse her as far as I can throw her. And if that. But if her objectives align with mine, she is more than welcome to go first.

Only after demanding the prosecution of Bill Clinton and others listed in the files. Which of course, makes the files evidence in an ongoing investigation and not subject to public disclosure.
