I don't believe we have a thread for this: northeast corner of Bathurst & Douglas Ave.

Originally approved in 2011 as a 9-storey retirement residence and underwent a minor variance in 2020 to allow it as a rental apartment. New Building permits applied for as of February.

One of 6 new buildings Medallion plans to start construction on in the next 6 months

Website has this rendering:

Would have been very cool if they could have waited until they started construction to demo and fence off a well used, albeit crappy park for the entire summer at Bloor and Sherbourne!

Some new renderings here:

Astro Demolitions equipment on site. It appears interior demo has begun. Strange enough, no demo permits can be found.

Don't know if the people here would be interested, but this building was famous in the local urban exploration community. It went by the name "Brokers Went Broke" on OAP, with the first album uploaded in 2018. As one commentator put it, the fame and accessibility of this building made it "the town bike" among explorers.

CMHC Media Release : "...the government is supporting the construction of 159 new rental homes with an investment of over $81.5 million through the Apartment Construction Loan Program (ACLP)... Located at 3101 Bathurst Street Vivant at Bedford Park will be developed by Medallion Corporation. The nine-storey building will feature a thoughtfully designed, purpose-built rental apartment complex offering individuals and families tenancies in a modern, energy-efficient environment. The site is located close to public transit, restaurants, bakeries and shops within the vibrant North York community. Construction is underway and expected to be complete by the Fall of 2027."
