Oh, I didn't realize that the rebuilding was due to shoddy work the first time around.
No tracks, but concrete the first time and trackwork and concrete for the current mess. I hear they change the date from the 10th to the 14th and no idea if it happen. I know the 17 was still on route on the 10th with the intersection wide open as I rode the 103 by it. The 17 was making a stop at the intersection. Not a cheap rebuilt and who pocket is it coming out of within Mobilinx??

No specific aspect. Rather, how is oversight and management so lacking that the whole thing gets built over the course of many weeks, yet no one notices the fault?

If there is a some problem making the work unacceptable, it should be caught during the work.

The person who eventually said, "This is no good. Tear it all up and redo it." - where was that person a year ago when the work was progressing?
It was most likely ML who found the issues when new surveying for the corridor took place as they noted in the past of track gauge issues as well other things. As I noted above, it could be any of those reasons or a combination of them all or some of them.

It will be interesting if all this work is done in 3 months when it took them 5 months the last time without track being installed in the beginning. Took 3 months to do the trackwork once the guideway was rebuilt and some of that timeframe was dealing with a bitter winter..

Took a look at Google Maps live traffic and it's showing Topflight Drive is completely closed now with the symbol mentioning a closure until August of 2025.

Whoever's pockets this repair is coming out of, I'd rather just get it done and over with at this point.

I thought the July testing was too early and had to be base on opening of Topflight and verifying it was ready for testing of the LRV which is now August. Three months to demo and rebuilding it was too short unless some 7/24 work is taking place.

BOT will get less money at the end of the day for their poor workmanship compare to Amico who has to fix that poor workmanship since both have a 5% in the partnership of Mobilinx. This is only one of many problem areas that have to be fix to get things back on track and to complete unfinished areas.. End of 2025 while see an improvement over 2024.

At this point, I'm just hoping to see the LRV's on the road to signal that they're confident the trackwork is fine and that the LRV's function as they should.

I have my fingers crossed that Amico will get the project done. I can't say they'll get it done on time obviously, but I would be impressed if we have a timeline for completion after this year.

April 25 & 23

Long with more photos up on my site.

Was planning on looking at Topflight on Sat but pushed it to Monday. Did a test run on a new camera around Sq one and then doing Topflight, but after 80 shots the camera battery was dead with no spare with me that kill Topflight Visit. Since I have wheels for this coming week, took the whole corridor in in between other things I must do.

Traffic was light doing the detour for Topflight and closed off the area where I was planning on parking that allow to look at Brampton before doing Topflight. Most of the northbound curd has been poured and the road graded from 403 to Ray Lawson. Utility work taking place north of Ray Lawson with part of it stake for curb work and up to Courtly Park. Curb poured almost to Steeles.

Topflight work is not as bad as I was told, and that first phase could be done early next week. They are jack hammer the concrete between the rails as will on the side of it to remove the existing trackwork and not touching the switches. This been the case, it could be completed before July depending if the new materials are on hand as well been order. The concrete for part of the trackwork north of Topflight has been removed on both sides of the rails with some concrete still encasing the rails.

Crews doing various things along the corridor with A lot of gap replacement work taking place as well saw cutting the areas where the guideway curb must be replaced along with a few large areas of the road according to the markings.

This past week has seen traffic been backup on Hurontario south of Dundas and found out why when I came to a stand still at the Queensway for over 5 minutes. Since the North Service Rd is close at the intersection for utility work, all eastbound traffic is using Sherobee with police directing traffic as well hydro is installing new poles to replace the existing one causing traffic to stop as they lift the poles with the crane off the truck and into position. It will be interesting to see where they place the 4 poles for the ones in the southbound lane.

Access to the QEW westbound is back to its normal way as the northbound traffic has to shift around the utility in the northbound lanes.

Guideway work taking place from Englewood to the Mary fix Creek area where the guideway will move from the westside to the centre of the road. Guideway Curbs poured from Englewood to the push box with some grading taking place. All the fencing has been removed for the area along Hurontario.

Port Credit Station steel framing wrap with orange material and no idea why.

It looks like they will be rebuilding the east sidewalk with cycles and pedestrians using a northbound lane. Same thing is happening for the westside walk between Floradale and Paisley.

There been a vacant lot to the east of CIBC for donkey ages and was being used as a storage area. I Noticed a concrete pour underway as I head to pickup the car and had a look later in the day on y way hone. I thought this site as well the CIBC site would make a good development site in time, but it looks like it going to be a major substation unlike the other ones all ready built by the looks of it.

Almost the haft of it up today compared to the 23rd.

Glad to see that Topflight isn't as bad as I initially thought it was. However, I do remain ambivalent about the type of work that needs to be done. Are we replacing track, or just the concrete, or do they need to level the surface more? Tons of questions about that section remain in my head. Also, do we know if Amico is doing this work or is it on BOT to come back and redo it?

As for the PC Station being wrapped, I'm assuming they have electrical ran, or they're trying to protect poured concrete from any rain in case they're not on site over the weekend.

Tracks are being replace and it is less than I though/understood would take place for Topflight intersection. As for the other areas, concrete is being replace. I should note that there are a number of areas where the rail has been cut out of laid tracks. Amico is doing the work as I seen next to no BOT personal around these days. Spotted a BOT vehicle along the corridor and couldn't tell you where it was. If BOT doing work, its a small group and more like a sub to Amico.

As for PC, why wasn't this done in the past if rain or snow is an issue?

Here's to hoping we're closer to testing the rail and LRV's with Amico.

If BOT were doing PC before Amico, it's possible that they have different ideas and ideologies on how they get things done. It feels as though one takes more pride in their work than the other. I noticed along the corridor that whenever Amico were doing work, they had boxes covering a lot of the rail and surface that had been worked on. BOT appeared to have left everything open to the elements, or did the bare minimum just to say they did it.

Just a few photos I took on the way to Yorkdale this morning. Amico will be doing the Brampton extension to Gateway terminal from what I'm seeing here.

They're currently busy pouring the new curbs from the 407 section northbound and southbound. Sadly couldn't get many photos because of how fast my bus driver wanted to go.

Seems from this work on Hurontario/Top Flight that just the intersection is affected, but I'd imagine that it's more than that and they're doing this in phases. We'll see.

Dundas is down to one lane in each direction using the eastbound lanes with barriers up on the westside foe westbound and a load of paving on the westside. Mo signs up on southbound Hurontario for the intersection. No idea what is taking place and no time to find out what.

April 30
Wasn't planning on shoot the corridor this week, but coming southbound on 410, decided at the last moment to get off at Derry and have a look at Topflight. Small crew chipping remaining concrete from the rail while heavier jackhammers removing the road concrete between the track areas.

Decided to have a quick look at Brampton. Concrete finisher machine been put together with concrete being pour for the 407 bridge either this week or next putting the opening of the northbound lane either by the end of May or early June once the new curbs are built as rebuilding the lanes and ramps on both side of the bridge. Paving could take place any time for the curb lane from 407 to Ray Lawson as it is ready for it.

Crew working on the southbound curb with parts of it for curb work south of the plaza. Crew digging up the north-east corner with some trench work there. The curb has been poured just to the north of it that can see paving for the curb lane once the corner is done.

More removal, compacting the gap area and paving it around Barondale. Crews at a number of intersections doing formwork for the new crosswalk and other area.

Rebar being installed for the 403 retraining wall.

I had a look at Floradale intersection as I noticed sometime ago that the northbound curb was formed for traffic to turn north and had to check the southbound curb to see if that is the plan and it is. There is no turning lane for the northbound traffic and can see a number of issues with is access off/onto Floradale that will impact the LRT line and backing up northbound traffic. Wonder if this is also plan for Agnes intersection and a great mistake. Same goes for south of the QEW.

More up on my site.

Had an unplan look at the corridor to deal with some frustrations with Microsoft while rebuilding a system who finally admitted the issues were on their end.

Cinder blocks going up at the south end of PC station. Trenching taking place east of Hurontario for the North Service Rd with intersection still close. More guideway curb poured for the westside on both sides of Englewood. Eastside sidewalk close with walkway on the road from Englewood to park with exaction taking place on the southside of the bridge

Southbound Guideway between the Queensway and Sherobee has been dug out with work getting the curb area ready to be pour and will be follow by having the base of the guideway pour like the northbound.

The east retaining wall is being form for the 403 north ramp with material being place for groves in the wall like the west retaining wall and could be completed this week. This will allow rebar framing for both retaining wall next week or when it starts.

Number of mobile signs at the Queensway area saying nothing as well the one north of Burnhamthrope for southbound traffic.

May 8
Someone will be paying for a lot of concrete to replace areas it has been removed as well being rebuilt. A good section of the inbound track to the OMSF is missing concrete between the rails as well on both sides of it in places. The outbound track is seeing only small section of concrete removed between the rails.

Never heard of the company doing the track removal for Topflight and an Ontario company. As it stands today. all the tracks for the diamond area as well parts of the northbound track have been removed. The work to fix Topflight intersection is not going to be bad than thought it would be. Depending on the trackwork to replace the removed work, the intersection could be reopen before July.

The concrete finisher machine is off the 407 bridge on the north end. Nothing has taken place for the guideway for the bridge since the traffic lanes need to be done first. Still looking like a June opening for the northbound lanes. It maybe late this year before the guideway is built across the ramps area.

The curb area for the guideway north of Waltline is being rebuild.

May 26? will see no left turn at Watergraden intersection for northbound traffic according to the mobile sign and saw nothing for the southbound traffic. The only thing i can think that maybe taking place there is concrete work.

Most of the elevated guideway retaining wall for the section to Rathburn looks like it has been pour from the 403 drive by.

Based on what I have seen this week, I will be very surprise to see any LRV been tested come July considering the amount of trackwork still needs to be done along installing the overhead system.

Ward Councilors and miWay are not aware of any intersection be close for guideway work that will have an impact on everyone..

Hydro is string new wires on the new poles on both side of Hurontario on Burnhamthrope and seen no work on Hurontario since they were installing poles a week ago.

From today - not the greatest photos but wanted to show how deep the ridge is here on the line between Fairview and Burnhamthorpe... still not seeing tracks laid here

Any shot is worth more than nothing at all and hoping more members post more photos. I maybe not around in June and have other things on my plate than look and shoot the corridor at this time.

All the guideways look like this from Burnhamthrope To Sherobee as well to the north where rail is still missing. By the time they place the steel mesh, ties on top and raise them about a foot, the top of the rail maybe at the same height as the road or a few inches lower depending on the grade.

Hydro has been seen anywhere the last week and holding up a lot of work for the corridor.

The sub station going in on Dundas St E next to CIBC is way bigger than any of the current ones and maybe part of the new city substation. They were placing ducting from the site to Dundas that will connect to Hurontario that has a trench in place across two of the northbound lands that been block off over a year.

I am starting to see late 2027 to mid 2028 as an opening date without the loop. ML hasn't appeared before council as requested almost a year ago for an update on the loop and since then.

It would be nice to see a section fully complete than this mesh mash of unfinished work, but expecting some areas need rework first.

No idea what taking place at Topflight other than tracks have been removed for the diamond area.
