The self serve car wash at College and Lansdowne is all boarded up. No sign of any Development Application signs, nothing in the AIC. Anybody got any insight if something is coming here?

There are no building permits on file.
One business does list their address at this location, and its not a carwash:

This was discussed in the neighbourhood Facebook group a few days ago. Someone said the site was sold to a developer and the intention is to put up a midrise of about 9 storeys. Not sure how reliable that info is (Trust me bro!). Anyways, I've been praying to see this eyesore get redeveloped for the last 10 years, so seeing the site finally boarded up puts sparkles in my eyes!

Ugh and the responses in that thread (my wife joined the group).. 'but muh backyardz', 'think of the children', etc..
If I'm not mistaken it's rumored to be mass timber and a good chunk of rentals and no parking (??).

The Car Wash and Tim Horton's across the street looking as grimey as the are, are truly beacons of the neighbourhood.

Yep - CollecDev/Markee closed on the sale a couple weeks back - around the same price as the Danforth site they acquired recently

Pfffttt! Way earlier than that even! God I hate how shabby and semi-suburban this intersection is. It's had great potential for redevelopment for a long time, so I'm surprised developers haven't initiated anything here sooner. Now if only the lousy Tim Horton's plaza across the street would be eliminated, and a stunning flatiron planted on the wedge shaped parcel bounded by Lansdowne, Dundas and College I would be ecstatic.

Yeah, "think of the children" - you know how many times I've nervously passed by this stupid car wash or the horrible Tim Horton's plaza across the street while pushing my baby in a stroller only to have to dodge impatient asshole cars flying in and out of these awful car-oriented businesses? What a bunch of idiots in that group, but that's typical - those things are always filled with knee-jerk scorn for any kind of redevelopment, no matter what or where.
