Agreement Signed for Ontario Line Elevated Guideway and Stations

Infrastructure Ontario and Metrolinx have selected Trillium Guideway Partners (TGP) to deliver the Ontario Line Elevated Guideway and Stations contract. The team has signed a Development and Master Construction Agreement (DMCA) with Metrolinx, under a progressive design-build contract.

So that's all the major construction contracts either signed, or on the way towards a final agreement being signed.
  • Rolling Stock, Systems, Operations and Maintenance - Hitachi Rail, Transdev, Plenary Americas, and Webuild
  • Southern civils, stations and tunnel - Ferrovial and Vinci
  • Pape tunnel and underground stations - Webuild and Fomento de Construcciones y Contratas
  • Elevated guideway and stations - Acciona and AMICO
Notable are the quantity of Spanish construction firms - hopefully they can bring some of the Madrid Metro construction cost and efficiencies to the project!

The bridge looks great.
You'll already have the caternary poles and wires making it look messy, so the simpler the bridge the better.
The double column piers are quite common, it seems.
The Canada Line bridges in Vancouver are like that.

Very timely given the discussion in the other thread about ML maybe building a flyover under a transmission line.

Seriously, the normal scope and intent of a safety pause in an open house briefing is so attendees know about fire exits etc.

One wonders if this deck was prepared by an intern....

Quite the pessimists here lol. I know we havent had winter storms much this year but thats like standard advice that Toronto hydro gives in relation to winter storm preparedness
