If the Sheppard Line is any indication, even if Harris didn't cancel this line, it would've had the same fate where it would be a stub to nowhere that would be politically challenging to extend anywhere, leading to a decade of bickering on how to more cheaply extend it with LRTs or whatnot, likely leading to linear transfers. In other words, I think the eglinton crosstown is ultimately better in terms of what we ultimately got. This is made worse by the fact that at least the Sheppard Subway went Somewhere, a Suburban Mall is at least a destination of note, unlike York Centre which at the time was a literal green field.
