Toronto Sugar Wharf Condominiums (Phase 1) | 231m | 70s | Menkes | a—A

I agree they look striking if one is coming in on a boat or a swim from Rochester. The jury is still out for me on standing only a building away closer and such.
This is the challenge I’m having with liking these towers… if you see them from a distance, out of the corner of your eye, or you scroll past a picture (taken from a distance) of them on the forum at a certain speed, the pattern registers and catches your attention.

However, I find that truly looking at the towers, the pattern doesn’t really work, and it just looks like a bit of a mess. This is of course amplified the closer you are, but even viewing from a decent distance, if you pay too much attention, the gimmick doesn’t last. At least to my eye.

I would say that's probably what I think too. We can see them from our balcony a km or so away, and it looks kind of interesting, but from many other angles, it doesn't work.

Is one building close to topping out?
The currently taller building is - I counted 59 floors above the podium, not sure how tall the podium is (between 7 and 9 floors). I think that's supposed to be the shorter of the two towers, though. If that's the 64 storey tower, a few of the topmost floors must be the mech penthouse.

The steel lift is for the near tower top. I will loose my view of the far tower in the next two weeks.
The far tower appears to have a mezzanine mechanical level based on the small gap of daylight.
I think this is the top after the cap is poured.

The north side pattern is much different than the south. Still trying to figure it out. Maybe I need to squint and focus in the distance.
Some of the darker panels must be a blend and not dirt or an optical illusion.
Curiously excited still.

Interesting… the white rail cap on a grey panel.
