Did the revised Park design ever get posted here? I can't find it if it was.....

There is evidence of some listening to critiques above.

The path alignment has been altered so as to reduce the desire to walk across planting beds for a direct route.

Key spots where that desire may remain are now obstructed/protected by seating.

The water feature is now sculptural.

The overall program is simplified, but still shows aspiration.

^ Great aerial!

Question: How do you drop a huge high-rise and mid-rise mixed-use development (with 5 buildings and nearly 1000 residential units) into the middle of one of the most vibrant, (primarily low-rise) communities/streetscapes in the city... without destroying it?

Presumably, lots of neighbourhood consulting and then hire Westbank + Henriquez Partners to sculpt buildings articulated with different massing and materials, add the generous public space to the south, and then ensure everything meets, animates and actually improves this already great eating, shopping, hanging out with a beer and a book nabe.

Just imagine what a disastrous, neighbourhood-destroying barnacle this might have been in most other hands (like Pemberbum… shudders).

Applause.
