Ok who lied to me about the yellow crane being the one that would go all the way up and the big one in the middle being the one they'd take down 😂

I feel cheated, I no longer know what to think and believe. I am beside myself. What is life
They’re moving the yellow crane over a few feet to the newly installed base on the podium roof, then taking down the middle one.

Today.

Looks like this has been the holdup. The next pour may require removal of the centre crane and they had to finish getting the adjacent podium to the point where they could reconfigure the yellow crane for the rest of the main tower.

I suppose by the end of the year at the earliest this will really start making its mark on the skyline.

I had been assuming that, too, but if you look at this shot by @thaivic you can see that they built the form around the base of the crane, which suggests they’re pouring this next slab with the central crane still in place.

It is not this slab/floor but the next one that will be a much thicker transfer slab and base for the elevators. For a great explanation/illustration, see page 585.

Yellow crane being “cut out” from the south podium.

Once the yellow crane is repositioned and the centre crane is removed, the retail tenant will take possession of their vaulted three story space to begin installation of the store. I’d imagine we’ll see black hoarding going up around the podium soon after the centre crane is taken out.

Would you guys say this construction progress is on track or behind schedule?
(minus the permit delay)
I think ground breaking was oct 2017. We only appear to have the skeleton of 7 floors up in 2021. 111th west 57 in NYC broke ground in 2016 and has been topped out for some time.
(I’m not versed on the differences between developers, cities etc)
Thanks for yours thoughts!
