I like the building and agree the north-facing is disconcerting... mostly colour. Not sure what colour would improve. Opaque isn't the answer for a residential but if MOD had any bucks left over. I could see Soto Glass creating a milky to transparent window cladding (bottom to top)... but all animals have left the barn so moot.

Dumb word "moot".
 
The north side will be the most visible side. You can see that from many kilometers north on Yonge St but not the other sides (unless something gets built close enough to hide the north side).
 
I saw this at street level the other day. Not sure why but I really liked it. The changing volumes and shapes make it work. My bet is that once it is done, and the ground level retail unit is finished, it will look even better.

This firm can do a concrete enclosed garage better than most firms can do the residential part of a building.
