If It wasn't for the fact that I had to go to the washroom, wide a wake at 5 am, I wouldn't had check to computer to see how the uploading was going to the cloud and see 4515 leaving the yard. It turn into a 304am car sometime later after I posted the info.

It TTC keeps to 10 days for cars going into service, 4516 may enter service Dec 24 follow by 4517 on Dec 29. 4572 could see service Dec 27, but not tracking yet and most likely enter service in Jan 2019.

Well, hope your visit to the washroom was great. Anyways, Flexities 4417, 4445, 4494 and 4419 are on 501A today as your typical weekend spares.

Imagine my surprise when I got off the subway and boarded 4515 just now. Did not think it was so close to service. Still has the new streetcar smell to the upholstery.

I gather Thunder Bay has released two more cars, which would presumably be 4520 and 4521.

The issue is just when CP is likely to get them on the road to Toronto - 4518 and 4519 haven't been seen in the north yet. And, when they reach Toronto, how long does it take to deliver 4 cars given the roadswitcher doesn't run nightly and may be cancelled for some days over the holiday.

Reminds me of sliding my term papers under the prof's office door after an all nighter - and hoping they slept in and didn't check their mailbox before the due date.

With two cars coming from Kingston, 4519 was the last car from Thunder Bay that's needed to get 64 cars in service in 2019 to make the target (which it looks like they are going to miss by a few days).

Surely 4520 and 4521 are the keener handing in the paper early. :) 4521 will be the 64th Thunder Bay car delivered in 2018. That only leaves 48 more cars from Thunder Bay left to fulfill the contract.

Maybe the TTC is using the Julian calendar instead of the Gregorian calendar. Today's date, 2018/12/22, would be December 9, 2018 on the Julian calendar.

We certainly aren't far off from a fully Flexity streetcar network, as sad as that may sound. While, yes the CLRVs are 40 years, they will certainly be missed when they gone.

The Toronto Transportation Commission was created in 1920, and took over streetcar operations in Toronto in 1921. They ordered 575 Peter Witt streetcars from 1921 to 1923 and operated them until 1965.

The TTC entered its first PCC streetcar into service by 1938. It ordered 540 new PCC streetcars and bought 225 used streetcars by 1957.

Starting by 1982 and until 1989, the TTC had ordered 196 CLRVs and 53 ALRVs. They are planning to retire them by 2021.

The Flexity Outlook streetcars were ordered by 2009, but only started to get into service by 2014. It is hoped that the 204 order will be completed by end of 2019. We'll see if the optional order for 60 additional will happen or not. Just wondering at when the pantograph only streetcars start to arrive.

Considering the rewiring project extends beyond the final delivery date, I expect many of the additional 60, if ordered, will have trolley poles delivered with them.

A pole strapped to the roof isn't much of a maintenance burden.

When TTC starts ordering more cars with delivery in 2020('s). All 204 cars coming with both options. As to what BBD will do to fulfill payment to TTC by the way of cars, Could come like today or pans only, depending when BBD will delivery the extra cars.

CP is the hanging point as to when cars will get to Toronto and then to Hillcrest. Only one car being delivery at a time. If BBD is paying premium shipping rates to CP to have cars delivery to Hillcrest on Dec 24, 27, 28 and 31, TTC will still be short a car for 2018. 4459 + 64 = 4423 - 4572 - 457?, with 4521 being the last car from TB this year. What we don't know at this time has 457? been ship from Kingston Yet as well where are 4518/19??

If 4520/21 were release today and pickup as well, only one will get off loaded on Dec 31, assuming other cars were off loaded Dec 24, 27 & 28. What is not off loaded those days, will get push down the line to the point more cars not off loaded for 2018 per the schedule.

Yes of course. And we remember that BBD got the contract to build Caesar's war chariots. (Plus a million Denari bailout). Last chariot still out for rework but latest schedule indcates will be done before Saturnalia is over.
