Site Plan Control application for phase 2 now under review:
With a height of 241.4m.

Also: they appear to be building the bridge over Yonge St. into Backstage On The Esplanade - I wasn't aware they would be doing that. Backstage is going to get PATH access much sooner than I expected!

In those docs - it shows connections to the Dominion Building Development for loading/parking

Just adding some of my photos from the weekend. Some of these views are going to look a whole lot different once this is completed. That and buildings being totally blocked from the views. (Ones from the Gardiner are from Thursday night. The one from the HUB location is from Sunday afternoon).

I didn't realize the tower would be overtop of some of the rail corridor. That's going to be an exciting build to watch.

I am a little confused about the bridges. I thought Hines was building the Bay bridge, and the Yonge bridge, but perhaps I am confusing the north side Bay bridge, with the future South Bay bridge?

3 Bridges in Total.

One in the first tower that connects to the ACC crossing Bay
2 in the 2nd phase with one connecting to Union Station crossing Bay and an other connecting to (BackStage I guess) crossing Yonge.

Yes, the bridge across Yonge connects to Backstage - where there is a 'public space' - not yet accessible to the public - ready to be connected to.

Interesting! What is the public space for? I assumed it was just a PATH extension to get folks closer to their cars parked on Esplanade and to connect to Backstage for residence to access the network.

As far as I know it is an empty corridor at present. There has been talk of putting exhibits in it until it is linked to PATH by the bridge but I have not heard more of this recently. Not sure how plans went or are going to link directly to TPA garage that is immediately east of Backstage but that was certainly the initial plan. (i.e. not just exit outside onto The Esplanade.)

I believe there was to be another bridge from Backstage to the TPA garage - not sure when / if that is to be built though. I imagine funding will be lined up as a bridge into Backstage with an otherwise dead end corridor would be rather silly.
