Funny,.... I don’t recall the local Councillor dating anyone named Billes,.....
Image from page 14 of the document you referenced from 2013,... the street originally supposed to be named McMahon Drive have been renamed Woodsy Park Lane,.... and the park will now be named Woodsy Park!

Sounds innocent enough,.... but if you’ve read the article, you’ll notice the local Councillor’s girlfriend (his former executive assistant) is named Karen Wood. “First it was “Karen’s Way,” and now it’s “Woodsy Park.”” Oh, and Karen’s Way is closer to Bayview.

No, but the land was once owned by Canadian Tire, which was founded by the Billes family.

It was once named as Canadian Tire Park as far as I remembered.

Local Councillor David Shiner has the reputation for getting the highest development fee per condo unit in the City, which is great if you already live in his Ward (maximize Section37 Community Benefit, Section 42 & 45 Parkland dedication and development fees) VS moving into a new condo in his ward - since you’re ultimately paying for it.
CityPlanning and local councillor got lots of concession from developer here (new park, land for roads, land & payment for Community Centre with library, etc,...) but never got developer to convey the land for the elementary school (TDSB never requested it during City Planning / Councillor - Developer negotiation). Thus, developer is now expecting City/TDSB to pay for the land but since construction cost and land value has increased significantly,... the new elementary school is projected to now cost about $30 million.

That tallest building with the spire with the rounded fancy top (furthers tallest at left of Picture above and I believe there’s two of them), we need more of those but in the core maybe at 40-50s. Lite up at night they are quite beautiful. Sorry off topic for this page my apologies. Also just an opinion I thought I’d put out there.

Lot more up on site. The park will be a popular place once it opens. Going to be hard to get shots of the community centre.
