Looking south to Union Square, designed by Bjarke Ingels Group for Westbank Corp an Allied Properties REIT
Westbank Corp and Allied Properties REIT are proposing a 54-storey, 1.7 million square foot office tower at Simcoe and Station streets called Union Centre. The building, one block west of Union Station, is attached to the station via the Skywalk, part of Toronto's PATH network, which also connects to the Delta Hotel, Metro Toronto Convention Centre, and beyond to the other office towers and local attractions. The design by the Bjarke Ingels Group puts the elevators on building's glazed north elevation, and lights them as they travel up and down. Green walls cover the lower levels facing south, while the top of the tower is terraced, providing planted outdoor amenities and a green roof.
