SmartCentres Pickering

SmartCentres is redeveloping its 48-acre property in Pickering, at the intersection of Brock and Pickering Parkway. This property is ideally situated five minutes from the Pickering GO station, with easy access to Highway 401 and the Durham Live entertainment district. The land was identified in the South Pickering & Kingston Road Corridor Intensification Studies for high density mixed-use development. As such, SmartCentres is leading its evolution ‘from shopping centre to city centre’.
SmartCentres is working collaboratively with the City of Pickering to revitalize the existing retail and energize the community. An Official Plan Amendment and Rezoning have been submitted for a SmartLiving residential development on six acres of the property. This residential development includes two towers, 33 and 34 storeys respectively, designed by Turner Fleisher Architects inc. to accommodate over 725 residential units and 14,500 SF of retail space.
