A new condominium development will soon contribute more density at Midtown Toronto's growing Bathurst and St. Clair area. Construction of Lash Group and Goldman Group's The Barrington Condos has been ongoing since late-2016, when a ground breaking ceremony was held as shoring crews began work on the site's earth retention system.

In the months since this milestone was marked, the 18-storey, Richmond Architects-designed condo tower has come a long way at the west side of Bathurst Street, just north of St. Clair Avenue West. Excavation for the building's underground parking levels wrapped up in March, and has since been followed by the start of forming for the garage.

Views into the site reveal that a series of steel struts have been employed to horizontally brace the walls of the excavated pit, with forming work visible below. Construction of the garage will continue over the next few months as concrete and rebar work their way back up to grade level.

The Barrington's underground will include three levels of underground parking, while additional parking spaces will be housed within the rear of the second and third floors of the podium above. In total, 77 parking spaces will serve the 93 residential units housed in the development.

The Barrington follows Lash and Goldman's previous The Forest Hill 1 and 2 developments on the same block, along the north side of St. Clair west of Bathurst. Kitty corner to the southeast, Rise Condos is currently also under construction here.
