It has been a litte over one month since we last checked in on Chestnut Hill Developments and Fortress Real Developments' Lotus Condos, a new mid-rise at the development's Sheppard Avenue East at Kenaston Gardens in Toronto's Bayview Village neighbourhood. Since then, construction crews have continued to work away on the below-grade components of the 12-storey Kirkor Architects Planners-designed condominium development.

Much of Lotus' below-grade structure will be occupied by the project's two-level underground parking garage, which has been steadily taking shape since forming began in October. Forming is currently furthest along at the site's north end closest to Sheppard, where the foundation and P2 level have been poured.

In the image above, a large section of floor forms have been installed for the P1 level at the north end of the site. At the time of our visit, concrete placing work had begun on the P1 level's slab, with the tower crane hoisting loaded buckets of concrete supplied by a procession of trucks on Kenaston Gardens.

Moving from north to south, the progression of Lotus' below grade construction becomes clearer. Looking along the east end of the site, substrate has been laid across the south end of the site, where the floor of the P2 level will soon be poured. At the bottom right of the image below, the wooden form work indicates that there are still a few supporting columns left to pour in this section of the P2 level.

At the southwest corner, the earthen ramp used by crews and machinery to access the pit has been partially removed, with the tower crane and temporary staircases now able to get things in and out of the pit.
